Hi, I'm Nick.

I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #159751) based in San Francisco, working with adults who are ready to move beyond just surviving and into a place of genuine connection and wholeness.

I understand the weight you've been carrying — whether it's the shadow of childhood trauma, navigating addiction or recovery, or the deep fatigue of not being fully seen. If you've spent years holding it all together as a man, a trauma survivor, someone who is queer, neurodivergent, or in recovery, you may have learned to mask, people-please, or stay small just to get through. I specialize in supporting people who have felt fundamentally "othered" because of their identity, their sensitivity, or the complexity of what they carry.

How I Work

My approach is direct, relational, and deeply human. You won't find judgment in our sessions — you'll find honesty, real compassion, and the kind of support that lets you finally let your guard down. I believe healing happens in relationship: through empathy, attunement, and the space to be fully yourself, without code-switching, masking, or minimizing any part of your experience.

I bring warmth, humor, and realness into the room, meeting you exactly where you are. Therapy with me is a genuine partnership — built around what you need, not a rigid script. Together, we'll work to heal old wounds, build real self-compassion, and cultivate a life where you feel like you actually belong in your own skin.

Areas I focus on:

  • LGBTQ+ identity, minority stress, and chosen family

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Addiction and recovery (including sex addiction)

  • Men's issues

  • Depression, anxiety, and self-esteem

  • OCD

  • Sex therapy

  • Neurodivergence/ADHD

How I Work Therapeutically

I draw from several approaches depending on what fits you best:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) — Getting curious about the different "parts" of you (the protectors, the wounded parts, the reactive parts) and helping you reconnect with your calm, confident core Self.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — Especially useful alongside other methods for trauma, substance use, and major life transitions.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — Practical distress tolerance skills, paired with room for spiritual (not religious) meaning-making when it's helpful.

  • Person-Centered (Rogerian) — Unconditional positive regard, full stop. Many people have never had someone fully in their corner — I start there.

  • Solution-Focused Brief Treatment — We'll set a roadmap early on, without rushing the work.

Who I Work With

I have a deep love for working with the LGBTQIA+ community — especially gay and queer men navigating identity, belonging, minority stress, and relational healing. This community is close to my heart, and I bring both clinical training and lived understanding into that work.

I often work with men — queer or straight — who are ready to let their guard down: thoughtful, self-aware people who sense something needs to shift and are willing to be vulnerable, even when it's scary.

You don't need to arrive polished or have the perfect words for what you're feeling. You just need to show up as you are — whether you're in recovery, healing from trauma, untangling painful relationship patterns, or simply longing to feel more at home in yourself

What to Expect in Our First Session

Our first meeting is about one thing: connection. We'll talk about what brought you in, what you're hoping for, and whether we feel like a good fit. You set the pace — there's no pressure to go deep before you're ready. We'll also cover intake paperwork and get a feel for one another. By the end, my goal is that you leave feeling heard, and like this could actually work.

A Bit About Me

I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community myself, a trauma survivor, and someone who knows firsthand what it's like to navigate the world feeling fundamentally different. I'm not working from a textbook understanding of masking or minority stress — I know it from the inside, and that changes the kind of space I can offer you.

I've been told I have a calm presence and that I can be direct in a kind way — and I think real therapy needs both. I won't just reflect your words back at you. I'll gently challenge you when it serves you, always from a place of genuine care. I also bring humor into the room, because life is hard enough, and sometimes laughter is the work — it can be the moment the armor comes off.

An example of a practice I sometimes do with my clients during session or as a homework assignment to practice on their own.
